The organisation of SIEC-ISBE

SIEC-ISBE was found in Zurich in 1901, and its headquarters (Permanent Office) is located in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Current officers are SIEC-ISBE International President Mrs. Petra Bragadottir (Iceland) and General Secretary Dr. Judith Olson-Sutton (USA). The following nations are members of the organization: Austria, Australia, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States of America. New members from Eastern Europe, East Asia, Central and South America, and Africa are expected to join in the near future.

Poland was a member of SIEC-ISBE in 1926-1933 what is documented in a book by Andrew Moore, William Anderson, LaNeta Carlock, Robert Ristau titled "A Century of International Cooperation in Business Education, 1901-2001" (p. 37-38), edited on the occasion of jubilee of a centennial anniversary of SIEC-ISBE. During the conference in Zurich (Switzerland) in 2001 Professor Leszek Preisner reactivated SIEC-ISBE Polish Chapter. In 2001-2012 Professor Leszek Preisner served as a president of SIEC-ISBE Polish Chapter. In term 2012-2015 Dr. Anna Dubel, Eng. is a president of Polish Chapter.

SIEC-ISBE Objectives

Our organization provides a vital link between business and education. Both business representatives and educators will benefit from affiliation with SIEC-ISBE through its objectives:

  • to provide opportunities to observe, interact, and exchange ideas on educational strategies with multinational participants

  • to provide networking opportunities with business and educational leaders from around the world

  • to provide access to database resources and to disseminate information via modern technology (i.e. web side, e-mail,fax)

  • to access new developments in the fields of intercultural, cross-cultural, and multicultural education

  • to focus on international business topics

 

 

 

 

Membership

SIEC-ISBE - the society for you and everyone concerned with business education.

You should join SIEC-ISBE:

  • if you are a teacher in business or related area

  • if you are responsible for business training

  • if you are an educational administrator or manager

  • if you are interested in international business education or training

  • if you are a member of an academic or research staff at a college/university

Membership

In addition to individual membership, collective membership is available to the organisations such as educational institutions, companies, trade unions, employers' associations and governmental and other agencies.

  • an opportunity to attend the annual SIEC-ISBE International Conference, held in a different country each year during late July/early August
